The South Sea Towage Limited Board sees additional opportunities in the Pacific Region in Tug Towage, Barge work and Salvage. Its solid past trading and growth has provided the base, and economic strength coupled with the staff skills required to enlarge its operation with confidence. Further a commitment exists to expanding and upgrading its equipment based on confidence in the future of Fiji and the Pacific Region generally.
The first investment taken to achieve its future goal is the introduction of a sixth Tug.
South Sea Towage Limited present development direction in part involves entering into Harbour Reception Services in both at Suva and Lautoka Ports, and purchasing a Barge for this service and other Contract work.
The Company also is committed to Engineering outwork, using its existing equipment and skills to compete in the Viti Levu market.
A further major project in preliminary planning is the redevelopment at its present site incorporating rental income generating avenues.
Finally in terms of Human Resources South Sea Towage Limited is not only concerned in regards to its revenue generation but also its Social Responsibilities. An example of this is its Training School Work Experience programme for graduates of Maritime School. The school aims to assist, train and guide in order for cadets to continue their studies to find employment in the Marine Industry. Further it is apparent that South Sea Towage Limited staff experience Medical concern involving Non Communicable Diseases. This is national problem.
